Description
Portable talisman, built around a small box whose lid is covered with an ultra-thin handkerchief. The embroidery is a floral appliqué in shades of peach and orange, with leaves in different hues of green and hand stitches outlining the forms like tiny marks of care. Along the edges remain traces of the artisan’s work, while the fabric itself feels light to the touch.
Opening the box reveals a photographic print of a rose. Its petals are highlighted with lines of hand-stitched cotton thread—an embroidery drawn over the image that transforms it into a small altar. The bottom of the box is filled with a bed of naturally dyed fibers in magenta, rose, and orange tones. A warm materiality that embraces and protects, like a chromatic nest.
Inside the box also lies a fine linen handkerchief, hand-embroidered with spiral writing. Its margins are adorned with tiny orange glass beads that glimmer as they move. The hand that stitched the phrase seems intent on pulling the message toward the center, like an invocation repeated. Beneath the box, small discs cut from seashell fragments tie the object back to the sea and to time itself.
Every element—fabric, thread, paper, beads, shells—is reclaimed and chosen for its tactile and symbolic value: the embroidered photographic rose recalls fragile beauty and care, the nest of fibers offers warmth and grounding, the handkerchief with its spiral text holds a motto of inner resilience. The talisman is not wearable but can be kept in a pocket, a bag, or placed on a nightstand as a quiet reminder. It is shipped in custom packaging, plastic-free and protected with natural materials. Best kept in a dry place, away from direct light and humidity.
