Contemporary man chases the illusion of control, immersed in a hyperconnected system that smothers unpredictability, fighting against natural chaos yet unable to embrace its deeper order.

In the attempt to dominate everything, control turns into a prison: invisible yet omnipresent, crushing freedom and stifling biology itself. Power becomes an illusory supremacy that ultimately consumes those who wield it.

Description

Created in March 2021, this embroidery on linen fabric (41×47 cm) is preserved in a wooden box (50×14×28 cm) covered with domestic objects, tiny boxes, and glass bottles holding treasures, vintage toys, illustrations, photographs, and cardboard pyramids.

The King of the World is part of the series Emotional Archaeology, in which every stitched fragment embodies an inner memory, safeguarded in physical form. The creative process begins with found objects, lived-in fabrics, and autobiographical impressions. Each piece is singular—unique and unrepeatable.

The materials used are delicate and often one of a kind: vintage medical gauze, hand-drawn tracing papers, translucent fabrics, elements of glass, wood, and metal. Some are recycled, others shaped by time. Each component is chosen for its tactile and evocative qualities, and assembled in a way that preserves its original identity. Each work is shipped in custom, plastic-free packaging, protected with natural materials. It should be stored in dry indoor environments, away from direct sunlight and humidity. The embroidery can be machine-washed at 40°C with natural detergent and without fabric softener. Avoid opening the box too often and handle with care: the materials are fragile, meant to last only if kept attentively.
