The shelter of the nest contrasts with the irrepressible impulse to fly, urging us to follow instinct and give shape to the unspeakable. A wooden branch shaped like a bird watches over an egg enclosed in the box—an unexpressed potential, a beginning yet to unfold.
The crack on the lid, repaired with beeswax, recalls kintsugi and warns us that ignoring our vocation opens an irreparable fracture in the soul.
Created in June 2020, this hand embroidery on a linen handkerchief (19×18 cm) is enclosed in a vintage wooden powder box (17×10×14 cm), together with a clay whistle, a wooden egg, copper threads, and dried flowers, all layered with natural and symbolic objects.
“Even if I don’t want to” is part of the Emotional Archaeology series, where every stitched fragment embodies an inner memory preserved in physical form. The creative process unfolds through found objects, worn textiles, and autobiographical impressions. Each piece is unique and cannot be reproduced.
The materials used are delicate and often one of a kind: vintage medical gauze, hand-drawn tissue paper, translucent fabrics, elements of glass, wood, and metal. Some are recycled, others altered over time. Each component is chosen for its tactile and evocative qualities, and assembled in a way that preserves its original identity.
Every work is shipped in custom packaging, protected by natural, plastic-free materials. It is meant to be stored indoors, in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and humidity. The embroidery can be washed in a washing machine at 40°C with a natural detergent and without fabric softener. The box should not be opened frequently and must be handled with care: the materials are fragile and will last only if preserved with attention.
