Description

A small glass jar, sealed with a cork stopper topped by a tiny metal pheasant resting in a nest of colored threads, holds a strip of linen rolled onto itself.

The strip is finished along the edges with hand-sewn fragments of cotton lace that evoke the feathers of the pheasant’s tail and wings, visually suggesting flight and passage. It is hand-embroidered with a phrase from the Kojiki, the foundational text of Japanese mythology (712 CE). In the narrative, a messenger is sent in relation to the withdrawal of the sun goddess Amaterasu into the Heavenly Rock Cave. This messenger is a pheasant, chosen for its ability to carry a response that manifests as presence and resonance.

This talisman is intended to encourage a direct connection with energy, understood as a flow moving through all living beings and perceptible beyond rational thought. The object supports a state of openness and receptivity, facilitating access to intuition and inner guidance. It can be carried with you, for example in a bag, enclosed in a small box or protective container.

As a contained and safeguarded presence, it accompanies its holder as a sign of openness, permeability, and relationship with energetic flow and the divine.

The gesture of opening the jar and unrolling the embroidered linen introduces a pause in ordinary time. Attention shifts from discursive thought toward a subtler mode of perception, where contact with the object becomes an occasion for grounding and connection.

Each amulet is entirely handmade, without serial processes, and is therefore unique and one of a kind.
